Kite In-Flight is a sculptural floor lamp that draws from the diều sáo, a whistling kite unique to Việt Nam. taking cues from its ovoid wingspan, the curved brass stem mirrors the soft whimsy of the kites in air, gently swaying in the breeze as you walk by it. the piece emulates the warmth of looking up at the sky with a kite in hand—remember how it feels to fly a kite?

The Rễ Cây—Vietnamese for root—is an award-winning five piece collection that explores the notion of finding balance in the contrary, whether through form, material, or origin, establishing the tension between the weightless yet grounded. The ceramic bases platform Dó paper—a historic specialty paper handmade in Bắc Ninh, Việt Nam.

Lighting is handmade and hand-finished by Steffany in her NYC studio. All options are customizable in a range of Vy Voi colors and finishes.

Yes! Because of the handmade nature of our lighting, we are open to conversations on customization. This includes color, finish and scale.
If you’re local to the NYC area, yes, we are happy to do white-glove delivery and/or on-site installs. For outside of the NYC area, please email hello@vyvoi.com to inquire.
Lighting is fully made and assembled in NY. Ceramic bases are handmade and fired, and Dó paper is hand applied and assembled for the lampshade in our studio in Queens, New York. All wiring is done locally in New York. Dó paper is produced with artisans in Bắc Ninh, Việt Nam.
